Open Competition Rules: Contestants will perform a 1- minute live script read in front of Ro and OMS Cleveland judges. Students will perform a live in-studio read a 1-minute script for the role of a spooky character (e.g., a werewolf, a ghost, a vampire or Zombie). They perform a short script and are judged on how well they embody the character.
Student Division (All Campuses) Rules: Students will perform a live in-studio read a 1-minute script for the role of a spooky character (e.g., a werewolf, a ghost, a vampire or Zombie). They perform a short script and are judged on how well they embody the character similar to the open competition. Only students who actively compete are entered into the final drawing.
Judging Criteria:
Judges will score each performance on a scale of 1-10 in the following categories:
- Character Embodiment: How well did the participant embody the chosen spooky character (werewolf, ghost, etc.)? Was the performance believable and consistent?
- Vocal Performance: Did the participant use their voice effectively? This includes tone, pitch, pace, and emotional delivery.
- Creativity & Humor: How creatively did the participant interpret the script? Did they land the humorous moments effectively?
- Overall Impact: How engaging and memorable was the performance?
The participant with the highest total score in the Open Division wins the grand prize.
