Meet Marcus Donald, also known as Mr. Deacon, a 2020 graduate of Ohio Media School, Marcus enrolled to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for a career in radio and TV. His time at school proved to be invaluable, as he sharpened his multimedia skills and incorporated the advertising concepts into his YouTube sports channel.
Marcus, a former USMC and decorated US Army Veteran serving in Iraq as a Combat Engineer, is a Credentialing Specialist for the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the MSO’s office at the LOUIS STOKES CLEVELAND VA MEDICAL CENTER. In addition to his professional commitments, Marcus is a part-time digital content creator on YouTube and the CEO of TMDE SPORTS
Marcus is also the Co-Chairman of the Drake Community Youth Center in Cleveland Heights, and a Co-Creator of the highly successful 2nd Annual Brown Legends Alumni Youth Football Camp.
Leveraging the skills he learned at Ohio Media School, Marcus has established a thriving YouTube sports channel. He is incorporating multimedia and creative concepts to attract advertisers and engage his audience.
Dedicated to his own success, Marcus also values collaboration and community engagement. He actively collaborates with former students, maintains connections with staff, teachers, and alumni. Additionally, he has a network of community partners who support his involvement in youth sporting events and activities, including former Cleveland Browns players.
As a graduate, Marcus has set clear career goals. He aspires to become the next Pat McAfee in terms of YouTube and other social media channels. He aims to control his own content and make a significant impact in the digital world.
When asked to share his advice with current students, Marcus emphasizes the importance of taking their education seriously. Marcus urges students to stay focused and remember their initial motivation for enrolling. In the face of challenges, he emphasizes the need to persevere and not give in to discouragement.
